My Career in psychology began in 1998 and I became a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in 2005. I am an now an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I work in independent practice in Benfleet, Essex, but I have also worked in the private sector for The Priory Group where I specialised in CBT, and I have worked in various mental health settings within the NHS.
My work involves helping people to overcome emotional and psychological difficulties, counselling through difficult life events, and personal exploration and development. I am also able to offer a Sport Psychology service with a focus on performance enhancement.
As a psychologist I offer an individual approach to treatment based on an assessment. I am experienced in a number of different treatment approaches including, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) for PTSD, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Clinical Hypnosis. I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties including Depression; Anxiety disorders; Phobias; Panic attacks; Trauma; PTSD; Bereavement; OCD; Self esteem; Stress and Self Harm.
